Fluor Alaska Inc, Richland, Wash., is being awarded a $325,396,950 cost-plus-award-fee construction contract for the construction of facilities to support the validation of the ground-based midcourse defense element operational concept aspect of the Ballistic Missile Defense System Test Bed. Work will be performed in Alaska and is expected to be completed by June 15, 2004. There were 47 bids received on Feb. 27, 2002, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (DACA87-02-C-0004).
